We've got talent...
In between cleaning and getting the shop ready to be closed for ten days, we managed one more birthday cake.
Rain (our youngest decorator) did this cake, only her second full cake. Turned out pretty nice, don't you think?
It's for a pianist turning 70, ordered by his wife for a surprise birthday party. She planned to "hide" it in the dining room (which apparently they rarely use) until the party.
The cake itself is light yellow with raspberry filling. The decorations are entirely black and ivory buttercream. Except for the bow (gumpaste) and candles.
We are pretty sure he will like it.
While the bakery is officially closed until January 20, we are making plans to have Championship Cookies available for the celebration Tuscaloosa is planning for the University of Alabama National Champions football team. We'll keep everyone posted on the details here and on our Facebook page.
