Oh joy! It's Day 3 and the construction has finally closed our alley.
The alley in front of our shop is littered with heavy equipment and heavy operators. Plus pipes, cement blocks and other large objects that are used for who-knows-what.
The sounds of digging and pounding may eventually require drugs of some sort.
Meanwhile, life goes on in the bakery, with cookies, pastries and cakes to be made.
We had our first truck event yesterday as a result of the construction. A large tractor-trailer found himself at the intersection of 5th and Main, with nowhere to go but left or right. He turned right and took out four of the large posts that used to protect the corner. Seems there is no sign on the main highway to warn truckers about the street closure before they arrive at the intersection.
Then just kept going. Luckily someone got his tag. They also called the city to suggest some signage. Of course that was only yesterday...
