Collin, who just turned five, loves Toy Story, especially Woody. He needed a cake to celebrate his birthday.
We don't do licensed characters, but we do borrow themes and designs.
We wanted to capture flavor of the movie and Woody, in particular, in a small cake. After all, if a five-year-old cannot recognize the cake, we've pretty much wasted our time.
Luckily for us, Collin is pretty observant and he's got loads of imagination. (He's the one who told me about Rumpledoodles.)
So Rain copied the design from Woody's cowboy shirt, along with the design on Andy's bedroom wall, and added Jesse's lasso rope. All it needs are some real toys to sit next to, which I'm pretty sure Collin already has.
Then to celebrate his birthday at school, we made cookie versions of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.
Here's the Mrs...
And Mr. Potato Head himself...
