My job this weekend is to turn thirty pounds of these...
my hands, and a pot of boiling water.
So they won't actually be "roasting" but the end result will be similar.
When I'm done, I expect to have 10-15 pounds of peeled, cooked chestnuts that will either be glaceed or chopped and made into chestnut truffles.
Then who knows what else might be imagined and created during this industrious endeavor.
Think I may need to put Nat King Cole's version of The Christmas Song on my playlist to enjoy while I work.
