1. The portion of a racetrack from the last turn to the finish line.
2. (Informal) The final stages of an undertaking.
We've been at this contest for ninety days.
That's nine-oh, as in ten away from one hundred. Three months. All summer.
According to the sponsors, over 100,000 votes have been cast. Best I can tell, about half of them have been for us.
Now all we gotta do is vote four more times.
So don't give up now, we're on the homestretch.
And what am I going to do on Monday when I don't have to vote, or encourage anyone else to vote, or stay up till 10 pm so I can give away prizes for voting?
First thing is to leave the laptop at the shop.
Then maybe see a movie. Or go out to dinner.
And be all cuddled up in bed before 10.

Today is day 90 of the voting marathon, officially known as the Get Back To Scratch Contest. We're competing to win a big new mixer for the bakery. And while the voting ends on Sunday, August 21 at 10:59 CDT, the winners will not be announced until Tuesday SEPTEMBER 6.
Get Back To Scratch is a movement that supports and encourages the passion of bakers and chefs. Folks who invest the time and materials bake with real flour and sugar and eggs instead of pre-prepared and par-baked items. It was created by Hobart, the folks who make large commercial mixers. The movement is supported and promoted by an online network of culinary and baking professionals, including Buddy Vallestro, TLC's Cake Boss.
Vote for us at http://www.getbacktoscratch.com/directory/profile/?id=268 through August 21.
